Denza Z9 GT

BYD’s premium brand, Denza, has officially declared new technical specifications for its upcoming Z9 and Z9GT models. According to the latest regulatory filings in China, the flagship electric vehicles have received significant upgrades in battery capacity, range, and powertrain performance, positioning them as strong competitors in the high-end EV segment.

Extended Range and Battery Options

The updated Denza Z9 and Z9GT will be available with two primary battery configurations to cater to different range requirements. Both models utilize BYD’s advanced battery technology to push efficiency boundaries:

  • 102.3 kWh Pack: In the Denza Z9, this battery delivers a CLTC range of 905 km. For the Z9GT, it offers ranges between 820 km and 880 km, depending on the specific trim.
  • 122.5 kWh Pack: This larger battery allows the Denza Z9 to reach a maximum range of 1068 km. On the Z9GT, the same battery provides a range of up to 1036 km.

Performance and Powertrain

Denza is offering diverse powertrain setups, ranging from efficient single-motor versions to high-performance tri-motor configurations.

  1. Electric Variants: The single-motor version produces 370 kW (496 hp). However, the standout is the tri-motor variant featured in the Z9GT, which combines three electric motors to produce a total output of 850 kW (1,140 hp).
  2. Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): For users not ready to go fully electric, a PHEV version of the Z9GT is also in development. It features a 63.8 kWh battery, offering a pure electric range of over 400 km (CLTC).
